Description
A quick, bold weeknight meal mixing spicy beef, garlicky veggies, and warm rice for fast comfort and big flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for beef)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (for beef)
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 1/2 zucchini, sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for vegetables)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for vegetables)
- 1 cup steamed white rice
Instructions
- Prepare all vegetables by washing and chopping them. Mince the garlic. Measure out all sauces and seasonings.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil and 2 cloves minced garlic (for beef). Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and keep warm.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté the other 2 cloves garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add 1 teaspoon soy sauce and toss well.
- To serve, place hot steamed rice into bowls. Arrange beef and vegetables neatly on top or side by side. Spoon any extra sauce over the bowl for added flavor.
Notes
Use high heat for the vegetables to keep them crisp. Adjust chili flakes to control spiciness. Brown the beef well for deeper flavor.
