Description

A decadent Chocolate Bundt Cake that holds family memories and brings loved ones together.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly brewed coffee
  • 4 oz dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for decorating


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the caster sugar and oil until blended well.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla, milk, sour cream, and freshly brewed coffee.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
  10. To make the ganache, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer, then pour it over chopped dark chocolate.
  11. Stir until fully combined and glossy, then drizzle over the cooled bundt cake.
  12. Finish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles for decoration.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
