Description

A comforting cake with a rich chocolate base and a silky cream cheese filling that creates a gooey texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/16 cup butter, melted
  • 1 pound powdered sugar
  • A little extra vanilla (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and grease a 9-inch pie dish or square pan.
  2. Mix the chocolate cake mix with one egg and the melted butter until smooth, then pour into the prepared pan.
  3. Beat cream cheese, two eggs, vanilla, cocoa powder, melted butter, and powdered sugar until silky.
  4. Dollop filling over the cake batter and swirl gently.
  5. Bake until edges are set and center jiggles slightly. Let cool for at least an hour.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use fresh butter and ensure cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid lumps.
