Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing it lightly and dusting it with flour.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until it turns light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg whites one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
- Pour in the vanilla extract and mix gently until everything is incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
