Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing it lightly and dusting it with flour.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until it turns light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg whites one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  5. Pour in the vanilla extract and mix gently until everything is incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
