Description

A comforting and tender dessert featuring a buttery crust topped with a silky cream cheese filling, perfect for family breakfasts and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A little extra vanilla (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 1/2 cup of melted butter, and 1 egg. Stir until the dough looks sandy and press it into a greased baking dish to form the crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, vanilla extract, and 4 cups of powdered sugar until smooth and glossy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust and tap the pan gently to release air bubbles.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is set and golden with a slight wobble in the center.
  6. Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality butter and real vanilla. Leftovers can be stored for up to 5 days at room temperature or in the fridge.
