Description

A comforting casserole made with ground beef, mashed potatoes, and cream of mushroom soup, perfect for family dinners and potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large baking dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly.
  4. Layer the mashed potatoes on top of the beef.
  5. In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth; pour over the mashed potatoes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until heated through.
  8. If desired, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake until melted.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a creamier potato side, try adding shredded cheddar into the mashed potato layer or mixing in cooked vegetables.
