- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a large baking dish, spread the cooked beef mixture evenly.
- Layer the mashed potatoes on top of the beef.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth; pour over the mashed potatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until heated through.
- If desired, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake until melted.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a creamier potato side, try adding shredded cheddar into the mashed potato layer or mixing in cooked vegetables.
