Description
A zesty, refreshing twist on classic tiramisu, infused with limoncello and layers of creamy mascarpone cheese, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5–6 lemons)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup limoncello
- 16 oz mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp limoncello
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 24–30 pieces ladyfingers (savoiardi)
- Extra lemon zest for garnish
- Thin lemon slices (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Lemon Syrup: Juice lemons to get 1 cup of juice. Combine with sugar in a saucepan and heat until it simmers and thickens (about 5 minutes). Let cool and mix in limoncello.
- Make the Mascarpone Cream: Blend mascarpone until smooth. In another bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar to soft peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone, then mix in limoncello and vanilla.
- Assemble the Tiramisu: Dip ladyfingers quickly in lemon syrup, layer them in a dish, and cover with half the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- Chill: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let flavors meld.
- Serve: Cut into squares and garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices.
Notes
For best flavor, use freshly squeezed lemon juice and quality limoncello. You can serve with a fresh fruit salad or cookies.
