Description

A zesty, refreshing twist on classic tiramisu, infused with limoncello and layers of creamy mascarpone cheese, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 56 lemons)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup limoncello
  • 16 oz mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp limoncello
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2430 pieces ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • Extra lemon zest for garnish
  • Thin lemon slices (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lemon Syrup: Juice lemons to get 1 cup of juice. Combine with sugar in a saucepan and heat until it simmers and thickens (about 5 minutes). Let cool and mix in limoncello.
  2. Make the Mascarpone Cream: Blend mascarpone until smooth. In another bowl, whip heavy cream and powdered sugar to soft peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone, then mix in limoncello and vanilla.
  3. Assemble the Tiramisu: Dip ladyfingers quickly in lemon syrup, layer them in a dish, and cover with half the mascarpone mixture. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
  4. Chill: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let flavors meld.
  5. Serve: Cut into squares and garnish with mint leaves and lemon slices.

Notes

For best flavor, use freshly squeezed lemon juice and quality limoncello. You can serve with a fresh fruit salad or cookies.
