Description

A delightful blend of pecan pie and dump cake, rich with caramel and crunchy nuts, made for sharing with family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 box (about 15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar until glossy.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and add vanilla.
  4. Fold in pecan halves and pour filling into the buttered dish.
  5. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the filling without pressing down.
  6. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until edges are golden and center is set but slightly jiggly.
  8. Cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
