- 1 package store-bought puff pastry
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts as possible and place them on a lined baking tray.
- Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in the sliced strawberries into the cream cheese mixture.
- Spoon the filling into the center of each pastry heart without overfilling.
- Fold the edges of the heart towards the center and pinch to seal.
- Whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash and brush it over the tops of the danishes.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in a sealed container at room temperature. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
