Description

Warm, flaky pastries filled with a creamy strawberry mixture, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package store-bought puff pastry
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
  3. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many hearts as possible and place them on a lined baking tray.
  4. Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Fold in the sliced strawberries into the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Spoon the filling into the center of each pastry heart without overfilling.
  7. Fold the edges of the heart towards the center and pinch to seal.
  8. Whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash and brush it over the tops of the danishes.
  9. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let them cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in a sealed container at room temperature. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
