Description

The Dr Oz baking soda trick is a 2-minute morning wellness drink with baking soda and lemon that supports digestion, pH balance, and daily energy on an empty stomach.

Ingredients

1/2 tsp baking soda (pure sodium bicarbonate)

8 oz cool or room-temperature filtered water

Juice of 1/2 fresh lemon (about 1 tbsp)

1 tsp raw honey (optional)

1 small pinch Himalayan pink salt (optional)

1/4 tsp ground ginger (optional)

Instructions

1. Measure exactly half a teaspoon of plain baking soda using a level measuring spoon. Do not use more than this amount for a single serving.

2. Pour 8 oz of cool or room-temperature filtered water into a clear glass. Stir in the baking soda for 15 to 20 seconds until fully dissolved and the water runs clear.

3. Squeeze the juice of half a fresh lemon directly into the dissolved baking soda water. Stir gently and watch the fizzing reaction. Drink immediately before the fizz settles.

4. If using optional additions, stir in raw honey, a pinch of pink salt, or ground ginger after the lemon juice. Give everything one final stir to combine.

5. Sip the drink slowly over 3 to 5 minutes on an empty stomach, 20 to 30 minutes before your first meal or coffee. Do not repeat more than once per day.

Notes

Storage: This drink is best made fresh each morning. Do not store it, as the baking soda reaction with lemon dissipates quickly.

Safety: Do not exceed half a teaspoon of baking soda per serving. People with kidney disease, high blood pressure, or sodium-restricted diets should consult a doctor before using.

Substitutions: Apple cider vinegar can replace lemon juice for a different flavor profile. Warm water can replace cool water for easier dissolving.
