Description
Best organic gelatin recipe using grass-fed gelatin powder, herbal tea, raw honey, and lemon. Supports gut health, fullness, and daily wellness in just 5 minutes.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon organic grass-fed gelatin powder
3 tablespoons cold water (for blooming)
1 cup herbal tea or warm water (140°F to 180°F)
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
1 pinch turmeric (optional)
1 lemon slice, for serving
Instructions
1. Pour 3 tablespoons of cold water into a small bowl. Sprinkle organic gelatin powder evenly over the surface. Do not stir. Let bloom for 5 minutes until swollen and spongy.
2. Heat herbal tea or water to between 140°F and 180°F. Do not boil. Pour warm liquid over the bloomed gelatin and stir gently for 60 to 90 seconds until completely dissolved with no granules visible.
3. Add raw honey, fresh lemon juice, and a pinch of turmeric if desired. Stir gently to combine all flavors into the organic gelatin base.
4. Pour into a white glass dish or silicone mold for set gelatin cubes. Refrigerate uncovered for 2 hours for soft set or 4 hours for firm set. Or sip warm as a daily wellness drink before it cools.
5. Cut set gelatin into cubes and serve chilled. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Repeat daily for cumulative gut, skin, joint, and sleep benefits.
Notes
Storage: Store set gelatin cubes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze as freezing breaks the protein structure and creates a watery texture.
Substitution: Marine or fish-based organic gelatin works equally well for those avoiding bovine products. Use the same measurements.
Fruit tip: Avoid adding fresh pineapple, kiwi, papaya, or mango. Their enzymes prevent gelatin from setting properly. Use canned or cooked versions of these fruits instead.
Savory option: Skip honey and lemon. Add a pinch of sea salt and fresh herbs for a savory bone-broth style gelatin preparation.
